My Story

Hello!

Thank you for visiting our page, set up in conjunction with the MS Society of Ireland as our charity partner whilst we walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in their support. We appreciate you stopping by!

It has always been a dream of Jonathan's to walk the Camino, although Marion is already a few trips ahead. With the recent addition of the Celtic Camino in Dublin, they decided to take the opportunity of starting the Camino pilgrimage in Ireland - 30.2km on the 11th November 2023. They now plan to continue on in the mainland on the Camino Portugues from Tui on the 17th April 2024, finishing in Santiago in Spain on the 23rd April 2024. This means another 117.56km, completing a total 'pilgrimage' together of 147.76km, for a monumental mother/son team up, in support of the much-deserving MS Society of Ireland.

Multiple Sclerosis is the most common disabling neurological disease amongst young people in Ireland with over 9,000 people living with MS. For people living with MS there is still no known cure, but MS Ireland has already made a positive impact on their lives by providing practical support through services like physiotherapy classes, one-to-one community support and respite care. Jonathan was given a potential diagnosis of MS a few years ago and whilst he has since been given the all clear, had he been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, he would have relied on the support of the MS Society of Ireland as a result. As such, he knows how vital this is and has been an advocate for them ever since.

With your support, we can really make a difference! Please do consider donating as it will provide much needed funds to help the MS Society of Ireland to continue to support those who are living with Multiple Sclerosis in Ireland.

Thank you!
